-----------------------------------------------------------------
This disk contained an self-extracting archive EXTRACT.PRG, which
you started.
Now there must be following files on disk:
\ACCS
PASSWORT.ACC you can protect your disk drives with a
password
SCHUTZ.ACC a screensaver which works on all systems
but only on SM124
SPOOLER.ACC a little nice printer spooler with code
converter - optional of course.
STDESK.ACC an ACC which allows you to select
accessories and AUTO programs in an easy
way and which allows you to save and
load several desktop installations (that
means ACCS,AUTOS and DESKTOP.INF)
ZEITANZ.ACC another clock but a *very* fine one:
this ACC doesn't disturb any
interrupts...
these utilities have been written a long time ago.
Therefore I'm sorry that they are only german. Never-
theless I found it could be usefull to have them.
\DESKJET I suppose that I'm not the first person
which buied the HP deskjet for his
ATARI. But if you want to use this
printer right, it is neccessary to have
some little Mainzelmännchen† which do
the work of using all its possibilities:
HP_HARD.PRG its an AUTO init which allows you to
print hardcopys in 75,100,150 or 300
dpi. The default is 150dpi - I guess
this has the best result.
P6_TO_DJ.PRG I'm proud on this program. Its nothing
less than an emulator which makes your
computer think you have a NEC P6...
But there are two limitations:
1) Until now, the emulator does only
graphics emulation of 8bit in
60,120 and 240 dpi and of 24bit in
180 and 360dpi. It is prepared to
do full emulation but this will be
a cuple of work and I will do it -
but only if there is need. Please
let me know !
2) the emulator works only if your
program does its output over the
GEMDOS or BIOS routine. All
programs doing direct centronics
don't work or have to be patched.
Please keep in mind that it has been a
very hard work to write the graphics
emulation. This is the reason why I
skipped the rest of the emulation - I
had benn sitting at computer much more
time than I wanted. Nevertheless you
will realize that output over this
emulator is *not* more slowly than it
would be without.
†Mainzelmännchen is a german expression for people
who in obscurity do all your work
and who don't want anything for it.
\DESKJET\HP_PRINT
HP_PRINT.PRG this program allows you to use all
capabilities of the deskjet like small
fontsizes, landscape printing, twocolumn
printing and so on. It has a *very* nice
(maclike) user interface and is very
usefull.
HP_PRINT.CFG configuration file created and handled
by HP_PRINT. This file is ASCII and is
like the UNIX environment. There is only
one line which you should modify
manually: this is 'hp_language=?' If you
specify a 'g' you get german texts,
specifying an 'e' results in english
texts.
PC_8.TAB you can define conversion tables when
printing text files. In this file you
give the differences to a 1:1
conversion. This is - for character set
PC8 - only the german 'ß'.
\UTILS
AUTOBUP.PRG Program which allows you to do archive
backups of partitions, harddisks or
parts of partitions as you like. This
program doesn't do the backup itself, it
is a kind of macro processor for any
archive program you want. I on myself
use ZOO because this is fast and allows
me to store absolute pathnames.
AUTOBUP.BAT Batch file which specifies what to to
and how to do. This file is commented -
look there
MINIDESK.PRG A remainder of older days, but *very*
nice. This allows you to keep programs
on your desk with individual icons.
Throw it away if you want but take a
look...
